Disconnecting…
No phones. No ipads. No electronics.
If the idea of disconnecting is scary to you, it means you need it the most.
It is time for you to switch off and start a digital detox. Don’t put if off, plan to go away for a while.
Listening to your inner voice will not serve you “what if something happens?”, “what if I get lost?”. It is your brain’s survival instinct to keep you safe and it will resist when you try to make any changes.
“I can’t do it”, “I need to connect each day”, “my friends won’t understand”.
What we think, does not make it real.
It is our own fear of missing out that makes us addicted.
Taking a vacation will allow you to realign and balance your personal and professional life, which in turn will make you happier - and have a positive outcome on all aspects of your life.
Time to hang out with your friends, your family or even go solo on vacation. What will you do then if you do not have any devices? Relax, connect with humans, with nature and focus on what REALLY matters: yourself.
Take time to eat, hike, cycle, run, walk, swim, sleep, read, listen to music, meet people. There is a strong chance you won’t miss the vibrations from your pocket but instead want to extend your stay!
After all, when was the last time you focused on you?
